The first version of ‘O&M Best Practices Guidelines’ is the result of one years’ worth of dedication from a diverse team of O&M contractors, asset managers, developers, manufacturers, monitoring solutions providers, consultants, and utilities in the industry along with, of course, expertise from UL. Now available for download, this document covers all the main responsibilities of the O&M contractor, classifying them into minimum requirements and best practices.
The lack of standardization in O&M service provisions and general negligence towards incorporating proper O&M services highlighted an untapped opportunity to optimize assets and improve investment returns. These guidelines aim to address these deficiencies by setting a quality benchmark for professional, bankable service providers and a high level asset performance.
The O&M Task Force, which convened in March 2015, is responsible for the SolarPower Europe’s recently published guidelines. UL was proud to be the only certification body to join the Operations & Maintenance Task Force that provides these guidelines offering valuable assistance to the PV market.
